This is a very high quality unit that seems to put out a regular and proper voltage, some of the cheaper knockoffs over these can have some fluctuations and sometimes put a little bit too much in I've heard of people frying cameras with them so do you really want to trust your $700 or $5,000 camera body with a cheap dummy battery, I don't so I figure I might as well spend the $100 or so and get the Sony so you know you're getting something that's not going to destroy your camera I've been using this for a long time, I make YouTube videos so I've got the camera on for several hours a day, it's been working awesome and I also forget to unplug it when I'm done so even on those days where I forget to unplug it for 2 or 3 days straight there has been no issues or problems so it just seems like a really really nice dummy battery kit
