The only thing I didn't like was the discharge fittings the one i got was bump and being made totally soft castiron no steel or anything to give strength it would crumble in your hands. As for compressor that metal was fine I slowed my down tobe quite around 950 rpm on compressor side and still made lots of air and I used old 2 hp motor which has 3 hp in today marketCompressor arrived quickly and appears to be exactly what is needed - Have not installed yet.My 15 year old Harbor Freight air compressor needed a new air pump, so I bought this one since it looks very similar to the original. It was not an exact match for the original v-twin pump, but close enough. The short story is that I was able to successfully swap in this new pump for the original, with a bit of modification here and there. In particular I had to swap around the air tubing between the two cylinders and drill some extra holes in the pump’s base to match up with the mounting on the main compressor body, but that was pretty straightforward. As other reviewers have mentioned, this pump is pretty quiet. It seems like it might even be slightly quieter than my original pump. The fit and finish on this pump is pretty lacking, but I wasn’t really expecting much. While it looks like this pump will be a decent replacement for the original, I’m only giving this a rating of 3 stars. The packaging for this pump is completely inadequate to withstand the abuse of being shipped. Mine arrived with one of the cooling fins broken off and another bent. I saw other reviews mentioning a similar shipping outcome, but thought I would take a chance anyway. If not for needing to have a working compressor, I’d have returned it. Oh well, I’ll just use it until it breaks and next time I’ll definitely look for a better quality pump. The small pump fills a gap on my building Compressors work great for the priceWorked, pulled 30 inHg, so there's that. Pump is quiet. Last pump I used was very noisy in comparison.Pulled a single star, for multiple, little reasons.1) Entire pump was covered in oil from manufacturing. First thought was the included pump oil had burst, but that was a sealed bottle, in a sealed bag. A few minutes with some shop rags, cleaned it right up.2) manual is written in Engrish (For those not familiar, imagine a stereotypical Chinese person speaking English, but it's in print).3) No instructions on venting the extracted gas from the system. Has to go somewhere, right? There's two caps, one for the oil fill (black cap in the listing, mine was blue), and the red cap, which I think is it (it's not shown in the manual)? Either way, I loosened both to allow the evacuated gas to vent.4) The base is made from a relatively thick steel. the box was fine, packaging was adequate, but this plate was bent. It's definitely a defect prior to packaging. Won't affect performance, and it'll sit flat enough on the shelf until I get to use it again.I've used this only twice, and in a 4 hour period (replaced the condenser, wanted to make sure the system held before replacing the dryer, then replaced the dryer after the system held), so I won't be speaking of the reliability, long term.Would recommend for hobbyists and shadetree mechanics. If you're looking to get something for a pro shop, you're on the wrong listing. It worked good for about 3 months and I noticed that it wasn’t pumping air right I took it apart and the one reed was missing I wrote to the company here on Amazon and never received a response back I needed replacement gaskets and reeds I ended up making my own it worked for about a month and it blew the reed out again now I’m writing this in order to try and get a responseOrdered to replace a similar unit I had on my compressor. Seems to be a little quieter?? over all I'm very pleased. Several items off my old unit were interchangeable....the filter housings on this unit are plastic that just screw into the valve body. I was able to install my metal units which are less likely to melt (not a fan on plastic for any types of exhaust application. The oil fill was very cheap plastic as well. The oil fill plug off my other unit seems better quality so that was changed out also.I was having issues with my compressor not getting over 40lbs of pressure.......this unit was about an hour to swap out and fixed the problem......I'd much rather replace than spend 1/2 a day tearing apart & replacing internal gaskets. I'll defiantly save this and purchase in the future when the need arises....Quiet. Works well. No oil leaks. It leaks a little air from the head gasket. Just a couple tiny bubbles if you spray some soapy water on it. All the other fittings were tight. I used a 2.5" pulley on a 3450rpm motor and it does not trip a 20amp, 120volt circuit breaker. The oil was filthy after the first few hours of use. I suggest changing it early. Oil now looks okay after a couple of more hours.Added comment: I checked the amperage draw with the pulley set up described above. I was hoping to put a larger pulley on the motor and turn it a little faster to shorten the cycle time. It draws about 17amp when the tank is at 125psi. That is just about the limit on a 20amp circuit breaker.
